Sir David's Viewpoint

This one is a good viewpoint of one of the most respected player in whole RO community.
and this really make sense

I've been browsing through the boards these past few days and I have witnessed a plethora of troubles as well as their corresponding complaints regarding pRO, Thor in particular. I am saddened by these events and what they make me conclude. We are on a steady decline.

Whenever something crashes and burns, one of the very first questions asked is "Who was responsible?". It is during this query that the finger pointing starts. Not surprisingly, fingers are now pointed towards Level Up. They are rolling the server back, they are letting bots through, they, they they. Have we all stopped to consider our role in this fiasco we call pRO? Let me illustrate the situation to help us address this question.

First, we blame Gravity/Level Up for not implementing Ragdefender in Thor. Details of its implementation escape me BUT they did however prevent bots from entering the first months of Thor. They promised a bot free server and they delivered at least at first. What went wrong? WE, the players cut corners and created ways for bots to get in. Level Up didnt do that. WE DID. Now they are trying to stop the bots that are getting in. What do we do? We create account after account just to bot. Level Up didnt do that. WE DID.

Second. Awhile back we were all furious about that first rollback that happened due to the corrupt item database after the duplication spree. Level Up had no choice in that. We started duplicating items, thus corrupting the data integrity. WE DID THAT. In response to people who still keep duplicating, Gravity patched our game with a script that would take care of these items. This script is what is causing this second rollback. Now, we blame Gravity for the screw up. If WE didnt start duplicating, none of these would have happened.

Third. Lets take a look at the boards this time. Have you noticed how the boards these days are dirtier than they were before? A lot of oversized signatures, flaming, flame baiting, flooding, spamming and the occasional posting of porn as well as harrassment are found here! Before we start asking the moderators to "do their jobs" we should ask ourselves NOT to give them problems in the first place. We have users here that have never even read the RULES OF THE BOARDS. To them, here RULES let me help you.

In conclusion, I am not saying that Level Up is squeeky clean. I'm just saying that before we start asking them to clean their muck up, why dont we wipe ourselves first? We Pinoys keep blaming the ones in power for our suffering when we ourselves are generating new problems. These may sound cliche but let me end this with two statements that I humbly ask you to think over.
